Wadi Mujib

The Wadi Mujib Siq Trail is an exhilarating adventure through a stunning sandstone gorge. Hikers wade through water, climb waterfalls, and experience Jordan’s natural beauty up close in this thrilling canyon trek.

Wadi Mujib is located in the Mujib Biosphere Reserve, the lowest nature reserve in the world, right next to the Dead Sea. The Wadi flows into the Dead Sea at 410 meters below sea level! The reserve stretches to the Karak and Madaba mountains, which rise over 900 meters above sea level, creating a 1300-meter difference in elevation.

Be careful when navigating on Google Maps, as there are two locations for Wadi Mujib. Make sure to choose the one near the Dead Sea, as the other is incorrect.

Start your Wadi Mujib Siq Trail adventure from the Visitor Center. It's best to visit early in the day or late in the afternoon to avoid crowds, as it can get busy with tour buses. The route involves a lot of climbing, so avoiding peak times will save you time.

The easiest way to explore is by taking the Siq Trail without a guide. This trail costs 21 JD per person and follows a straightforward path, so you won’t get lost.

The trail includes walking, swimming in natural pools, and some climbing. While some parts are a bit challenging, most people can manage. It takes about an hour to reach the big waterfall, where you turn back the same way.

Wear quick-drying clothes and sturdy shoes. Life jackets are required and included in the price.
